Varthur was involved in a Controversial Matter for being involved in an anti animal case. He was summoned and arrested by the Indian Forest Department for wearing a Tiger Claw Locket. It was during Bigg Boss that he was found wearing the locket. An official examination was held in the show and after getting confirmation, he was asked to be handed over to the Forest Department.
